Fancy to have your own homemade cup of three layer milk tea or commonly known as teh c peng special, all you need is 10 minutes of patience. Otherwise you can purchase a two way flight ticket to Sarawak to taste the original teh c peng. It is commonly available everywhere in Sarawak. Anyway this tasty three layer milk tea is now available in most parts of Malaysia including Johor and Kuala Lumpur. Here is how to make your very own cup at home.
1/5 of Palm sugar or ‘Gula Melaka’ in syrup form
1/5 Evaporated milk
3/5 Red tea
All you need now is some skills in pouring the 3 into a cup. The density of the three will make the three layers of the drink that you see from shops. Firstly, fill up a clear transparent cup with ice. Next, pour in the Gula Melaka in the cup about 1 quarter on the ice and wait til it resides. The Gula Melaka syrup is also easily available at the supermarket nowadays. Next, pour in the evaporated milk slowly on the ice as well. I tried using the Gold Coin brand. Lastly pour the tea into the cup to make up the last layer and there you have it, a nice cup of homemade three layer milk tea or teh c peng special.
